Temple Music

Temple Music started, essentially, as a solo project of English musician and ex-World Serpent proprietor Alan Trench, also known for his work in the dark-folk band Orchis. There have been several musicians involved since its inception, all with varied careers in the more underground areas of the music scene, and all bringing a wealth of experience and talent to the project. A more permanent member is bass player Stephen Robinson (ex The Beloved).

Although coming out of the avant-folk scene, they also have roots in the European ritual/ambient/drone music of such disparate acts as Hybryds, Mirror, and Coil. The live Temple Music experience has proven to be a phenomenon, varying between shifting walls of noise and moments of arctic intensity, sometimes unsettling but always demanding attention, rhythm and chaos combined.

Limited edition of 50 hand-painted with lyric sheet

A slight departure from their previous avant-folk/drone releases, Children of the Sun is a bold and unerringly excellent album of six powerfully epic songs. What makes it so evocative is how easily it transcends any single genre... instead gliding through psychedelic-inspired krautrock transforming to melancholic rock ballads. The narratives are moments suspended in time and timeless.

This edition comes with a beautifully hand-painted cover by Alan Trench with gold stamping throughout and a separate lyric sheet. Also a gold Lightscribed CDr.

Soon You Will All Die And Your Lives Will Have Been As Nothing is the new album by the UK-based psychedelic/drone/ambient project Temple Music.

Stephen Robinson and Alan Trench ( from the dark folk project Orchis) skillfully combine a wide range of acoustic and electronic instruments, field recordings and drones with spoken word, rhythm and chaos, resulting in an entrancing avant-garde soundscape. The vocals are both comforting and unsettling and contribute to an overall magical atmosphere.

Introspective and spiritual as well as powerful and energetic, Soon You Will All Die And Your Lives Will Have Been As Nothing will entice the ears and the soul.

"This is minimalist psychedelic drone at its chilling and ominous best, an unsettling yet at the same time exquisite collection of ambient textures that thoughtfully combine acoustic and electronic instruments, field recordings and drones with spoken word vocals..." - Ptolemaic Terrascope

"Strains of flute, bells, and synthesizer swirls gradually encompass me, infecting my blood stream with their calmness, before the levels are elevated into a heady pulsating crispness." - Brainwashed

"Minimal, sounds, bells, female voice over/spoken poetry, spooky and gothy in the realm of Current 93, Coil...Great stuff, as is all Anticlock contributions to KZSU's library." - KZSU

"This more than successful combination of electric and acoustic instruments with field recordings, drones and spoken word, we warmly recommend." - Dark Entries
